Ingredients:

- 1 lb rigatoni pasta

- 1 lb ground meat (beef, pork, or a combination)

- 2 teaspoons taco seasoning

- 1 teaspoon paprika

- 1 onion, finely chopped

- 3 cloves of garlic, minced

- 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes

- 2 tablespoons tomato paste

- 1 teaspoon dried oregano

- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil

- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)

- Salt to taste

- Olive oil

- Freshly grated parmigiano cheese

- Fresh basil leaves for garnish


Kitchen Utensils:

- Large pot for cooking pasta

- Large skillet for making the sauce

- Wooden spoon

- Colander for draining pasta

- Grater for parmigiano cheese


Directions:

1. In a large pot, cook the rigatoni pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

2. In a separate large skillet, heat some olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic, sauté until fragrant.

3. Add the ground meat to the skillet and add the paprika & taco seasoning, breaking it up with a spoon and cook until browned.

4. Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, basil, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Simmer the sauce for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

5. Add the cooked rigatoni pasta to the skillet with the meat sauce. Toss everything together until the pasta is well coated with the sauce.

6. Serve the rigatoni pasta in bowls, topped with a generous amount of freshly grated parmigiano cheese and fresh basil leaves.
