Italian Meatballs in a delicious Tomato Sauce!

Ingredients:

Meatball Mixture:

  - 1 lb ground beef (half lean for added moisture)

  - 1 lb ground pork, perfectly blended for richness

  - 2 large eggs, binding everything together

  - 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmigiano Reggiano cheese

  - 1/4 cup freshly grated Pecorino cheese, tangy touch

  - 1/4 cup Italian parsley, finely chopped for freshness

  - 3 cloves garlic, minced, for aromatic excellence

  - 1 small onion, finely chopped, enhancing depth of flavour

  - 1 cup fresh breadcrumbs for a little crunch

  - 1/2 cup milk to ensure moistness

  - 1 tsp salt, a must for seasoning

  - 1/2 tsp black pepper, to taste

  - 1 tsp paprika, adding a sweet smokiness

  - 1 tsp cayenne pepper, for a fiery kick

  - 1/2 tsp dried oregano for that Italian essence


Tomato Sauce:

  - 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes

  - 1 tsp red pepper flakes, for an extra burst of heat

  - 1 tsp sugar, balancing the acidity of the tomatoes

  - 2 tbsp olive oil

  - 1/2 tsp salt to taste

  - Fresh basil leaves for garnishing


For Frying: Olive oil or avocado oil (enough for shallow frying)


Kitchen Utensils:

- Large bowl

- Spatula

- Measuring spoons

- Measuring cups

- Chopping board

- Chopping knife

- Skillet

- Paper towels

- Saucepan


Directions:

1. Meatball Magic:

 In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, eggs, cheeses, parsley, garlic, onion, breadcrumbs, milk, salt, pepper, paprika, cayenne pepper, and dried oregano. Mix thoroughly until all the ingredients harmonize into a beautiful mixture.

2. Form the MeatBalls:

 Shape the mixture into meatballs about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter and place them on a prepared baking sheet.

3. Sizzle in Oil:

 Heat olive oil or avocado oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Gently place the meatballs into the hot oil and fry them in batches, about 8-10 minutes, until they are browned and cooked through. Remove and drain on paper towels.

4. Create the Sauce:

 In a saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the crushed tomatoes, red pepper flakes, sugar and salt. Simmer for about 10 minutes, allowing the flavours to meld beautifully.

5. Combine and Simmer:

Add the golden brown meatballs to the sauce, letting them simmer for an additional 5 minutes, absorbing the tomato flavours.

6. Garnish and Serve:

Serve the Spicy Meatballs hot, garnished with fresh basil and a sprinkle of grated cheese. Pair with crusty bread or over a bed of pasta for a heavenly experience.
